This series of private villas are situated between the beach front and the boat channel on Padre Island. They are a modern interpretation of a more classic Mediterranean architype. The ground level assumes the presence of the inevitable storm surge on this barrier island, built of concrete and occupied by parking, a small pool, outdoor kitchen, cabana and gardens. Indoor living takes place above, intermingled with balconies and terraces to invite breezes and filtered sunlight. Oversized screens serve as daily mitigators of light and heat as well as protection against hurricane forces. Durability, longevity, lifestyle and climate combine to shape the design of these Beach Villas.
