This project reflects a collaboration with the Austin Parks Foundation, the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, and landscape architects TBG Partners. As part of an all-abilities playground, we designed a raised walkway that elevates users into the tree canopy, culminating in a nest-like play structure nestled in the woods outside the main play area. This walkway provides a quieter play experience with an emphasis on sensory engagement and contemplation. It includes tactile elements, areas for reflection, and auditory features such as wind chimes, enhancing the overall experience with a unique blend of nature and play. These project elements introduce a whimsical and inviting character to the playground, contributing to an atmosphere of inclusivity and joy.
