Campground

The Campground was based on the idea of “Forest Bathing” or the practice of spending time in nature to improve mental and physical well-being. Only the sleeping hours are spent inside the conditioned building. All other activities are placed in open air structures connected by board walks.

Nature is experienced through the sights, sounds, smells and touch. The sound of footsteps on the wooded walkways, the touch of the cool breezes in the outdoor living room, the sway of a swinging daybed and the music of the birds and other wildlife present; these are the grounding elements that bring the Campground inhabitants back into their bodies and connecting with the world around them.

This ability to slow down and peacefully observe nature has been proven to improve mood, increase overall well-being and stress.
